We don’t have a membership. Our events are public and open to all. Subscribe to our email newsletter or MeetUp group if you want to be notified of upcoming events. Follow us on Facebook and visit
our website for more information.
If you want to get involved in creating rituals or volunteering at other events, contact us We have a niche for every talent.
We are fairly eclectic, drawing from many traditions and our own personal experiences. We are not “A Tradition”. We like to be creative and innovative in our rites as well as using well-known elements from Wicca, Feri, and others. Our ritual crews and attendees include pantheists, non-theists, polytheists, and many more views of the cosmos.
Many people have met new friends at Community Seed events and gone on to form their own groups. If you seek a more focused coven or similar group, socializing at our public events is a great place to start. We aim to offer a spacious, eclectic “buffet” of spiritual experiences and fun for all to sample.
The announcement for each ritual will state whether that particular event is family-friendly or not.
By and large we tend to keep our subject matter as universal as we can.
Our Samhain rituals often discuss death. The decor, ritual garb, and the working itself might be scary.
Some of our workings might be emotionally heavy. Little children might become worried.
We provide ritual crew members to help support our attendees if they need some personal attention in their process.
Sometimes our Beltane rituals are sexy. Not in an explicit way, but with a sexual theme.
If our rituals were rated using the movie rating system, they might be G, PG, PG13, maybe R from time to time, never NC-17!
Most of our events would be rated G. We make a point of including various elements that people of all ages will appreciate.
A few rituals might be more cerebral, with lots of talking parts that children might find boring. Or they might be conducted at a level that children might not understand. Sometimes there is a guided meditation or quiet time that might be difficult for fidgety children.
Picnics, walks etc, are fun for all ages.
Feel free to call or email us for more details about any upcoming event.
There are two serious reasons why we do not permit photography during our rituals. First reason: We value the privacy of our
attendees. Many folks are “In the broom closet”, meaning they have reasons for not wanting outsiders to know they attend pagan
events.
The other reason: Our rituals are not performances. There are no spectators. We encourage our attendees to become fully engaged and present with the rest of us.
Holding a camera or other recording device separates you from the energy being raised.
Please ask first if you want to take photos during the gathering time before and the potluck after the ritual, or at other Community
Seed events.
We have found that having animals at rituals is distracting. Also, the animals might become frightened when people start moving around, chanting or raising energy. People might trip over or step on your pet. And, believe it or not, not everybody likes dogs! Or cats, or snakes, or whatever your pet might be. Please be considerate and leave your pets at home.
Do you need to bring your licensed service dog? Please be sure your dog is very calm, unobtrusive, well trained, “Circle Tame”, and knows how to get out of the way.
For safety and respect for the atmosphere of magic and the comfort of all people attending: We ask that you enter our sacred space with a clear head unaffected by alcohol or other mind-altering substances.
The mundane reasons are that it is mandated by our liability insurance. And most of the venues we rent have a no-alcohol policy.
If you don’t like the Working, you are welcome to use the sacred space to meditate, pray, or do your own Working in a way that doesn’t distract from the general focus. We ask that you don’t start chatting, or looking at your phone.
Of course you can go to the bathroom!
We often will have someone standing at the entrance who can cut an energetic doorway in the circle for you. Or you can cut your own.
It is very, very rare that our rituals make anyone feel like they have to leave. We do our best to make everyone feel comfortable and safe. But, if you do want to leave, we would like to make sure that you are okay.
We invite you to stay in the potluck area, have a cup of tea or a snack, and wait for the rest of us to join you. If we have an outer
guardian, you can tell them what is going on with you. We support you in your process and we welcome your feedback.
Many of our attendees like to dress up in something festive, but it isn’t necessary.
Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable.
Indoors or out, the temperature will fluctuate. Dress in layers.
Closed shoes are highly recommended at our outdoor rituals!
Yes. If you call or email us we can send you a copy of the script or, at the very least, a basic outline. Some rituals are more loosely scripted than others: the degree of spontaneity will vary. Our rituals are crafted in a way that most people can participate without any advance preparation.
Sometimes we will be singing or chanting. We take some time to practice the chants. If you don’t pick up the words exactly, don’t worry. The most important parts of chanting are the tone, the rhythm, and the energy being raised. You can simply tone and/or clap along.
Absolutely! Send us an email, or talk to the crew at oneof our events. We are always looking for newideas and people. If it’s your first public ritual, we can help you learn what makes a public
ritual awesome. If you have experience in another group, we love to expand our knowledge.
