Fall Creek, From SLV Elementary School

Fall Creek is the northern area of Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park. One of the park’s best kept secrets, it is 2,390 acres – the entire watershed of Fall Creek – and has about 20 miles of hiking trails. Most of these trails follow old wagon and logging roads that once led to busy industrial sites.

This hike is along the High School trail in the park.

Parking is free! We’ll meet in the SLV Elementary School parking lot. From Highway 17, take the Scotts Valley/Mount Hermon Rd exit. Continue on Mt. Hermon Road for about 3 1/2 miles. Turn right onto Graham Hill Road. In 1/4 mile, take a right turn to go north on Highway 9. Proceed about 3/4 of a mile on Highway 9, turn left into the elementary school parking lot from 9, then another sharp left to the actual parking lot.
